STARDUST

Late last night I sent kitty out to gather some stardust, so that we could have some pleasant dreams. But, sometimes he just gets lost wandering among the stars and doesn't come home for days on end. I always wonder what he does up there; he never tells me. Even when I ask him politely, he just lies there dreaming with his eyes full of stardust. It was getting late and Kitty hasn't come home with the stardust, so I had to go to bed without any dreams last night.

In the morning I found Kitty sleeping on the doorstep. He caught a falling star last night. It fell out of its nest as all the heavens looked on. Down it came crashing upon the ground sending stardust scattering across the lawn glittering in the moonlight like a carpet of multi-coloured sparkels.

The door was closed when Kitty came to the house with his catch, for I was sound asleep, oblivious to the wonders of the night. And all that was left as the sun came up was a fat dreamy eyed cat and dewdrops on the lawn where the heavens mourned its loss.
